Emergency

About us.

Testigo is an independent, personal project made in Romania. It was born so that anyone can understand what's wrong with their car before going to the garage.

You tell it what you notice and it gives you three things back: whether you can keep driving, what it might be and what to do next, with the sources in plain sight.

Today there are 869 known-fault sheets, 430 recalls with their own page and 85 explained OBD codes, each with its sources.

Why it exists.

So you don't overpay

With a warning light on it's easy to feel lost at the garage. If you arrive knowing what it might be, what to check and what it usually costs, you understand the quote and can ask questions.

Sourced data, not noise

The internet has thousands of loose opinions on every fault. Testigo gathers only what is documented and links every source, so you don't have to take our word for it.

How it works inside.

From the symptom you type to the report you read, in five steps.

  1. What you tell us

Your symptoms in your own words and, if you like, your car and the codes from an OBD2 reader. Before they reach the AI we remove emails, phone numbers and VINs. The AI never gets your name or your account.

  2. What we already know about your car

We look up your car's documented faults, its recalls and real garage cases in our sheets. Behind every sheet there's a source you can open.

  3. What the AI works out

An artificial intelligence model from an outside provider ranks the possible causes using those sheets. It has fixed rules: it can't make up sources, recalls or costs, and if you describe something dangerous, such as failing brakes, the oil warning light or an overheating engine, it has to give you high urgency and tell you to stop.

  4. A second look at safety

When what you describe could be dangerous, a second AI engine checks separately whether it's safe to keep driving. It can only add a warning, never remove one.

  5. What you see in the report

Each cause says what it's based on: a manufacturer recall, a technical bulletin, a documented sheet or a garage case, with its link. If it isn't based on anything of ours, it says so: it's general guidance.

Every source, from the official ones to what you tell us: Where our data comes from.

Its limits.

We'd rather tell you what it doesn't know than have you trust it too much.

Why you can trust it.

You can check everything

Every sheet and every recall links to its original source, and the report tells you what each cause is based on. You don't have to take our word for it: you can read it yourself.

It doesn't sell you anything

Testigo isn't a garage and doesn't sell parts or repairs, and no garage or brand decides what a sheet says. Today it's free and needs no sign-up.

Safety comes first

A danger sign always calls for high urgency, and the checks it suggests are only the ones you can do with the car stopped, the engine cold and no tools.

We measure how often it's right

We test the diagnosis on real cases whose answer is already known, including cases our sheets know nothing about. And on saved reports we ask “What was it in the end?” to learn from what really happened.

What Testigo doesn't do.
