Engine / equipment
Brake pipe next to the engine mounting: Suzuki Swift FZ
Period mentioned
2013–2015 (only the VINs in the recall)
Symptoms
At first nothing is noticed. Over time brake fluid can leak and braking gets worse.
Possible cause described
According to the UK DVSA (R/2014/045) and the EU alert A12/1775/18 (Safety Gate, notified by Romania), the brake pipe can vibrate and rub against the engine mounting; prolonged rubbing damages it and lets fluid leak, reducing braking performance. The fix is a modified pipe, longer and rerouted.
Check for the garage
Watch the brake fluid level and for stains under the engine. Ask a Suzuki dealer, with the VIN, whether the recall is outstanding on your car.
