Suspension, exhaust, brakes and valve collets on the Logan IKnown weak points
- Engine / equipment
- Dacia Logan I and Logan MCV I (petrol, LPG and diesel)
- Period mentioned
- 2004–2012
- Symptoms
- Joints and track-rod ends that wear quickly, a short-lived exhaust, brake hoses from the sixth year and then discs, lights; batteries, starters, fuel pumps, door locks, crankshaft sensors and ignition leads.
- Possible cause described
- Inspection and breakdown-service data. Recalls: faulty valve collets on 2010 model-year cars (possible engine damage), loosely fixed alternator wiring (fire risk), the brake-light switch (2009) and an ABS warning lamp that might not light up.
- Check for the garage
- Check the campaigns by VIN; check the front axle, brake hoses, exhaust and lights before the roadworthiness test.

- Engine / equipment
- 1.4 MPI (K7J) and 1.6 MPI 8V (K7M), petrol or LPG: Dacia Logan I, Logan MCV I and Sandero I
- Period mentioned
- 2004–2013
- Symptoms
- The engine shakes or runs on three cylinders, above all in damp weather or when cold, and the OBD scan shows misfires; or the idle will not hold: the engine stays revving or stalls when you stop.
- Possible cause described
- According to the owners who answer on DailyDriven, the ignition coil cracks and stops sparking in damp weather (a 1.4, and a 1.6 that twice failed to start at 230,000 km), and the idle stepper motor (idle valve) fails: on one 1.4 it was replaced three times from about 35,000 km, and on another the engine stayed revving at 235,000 km. These are owner reports, not statistics.
- Check for the garage
- Read the codes with an OBD reader and check the coil for cracks, together with the spark plugs and leads; if the idle fails, clean or test the stepper motor before replacing other parts. On LPG cars a weak coil shows up first when running on gas.
- Cost cited in the source
- What DailyDriven owners paid: a coil, about 100 lei; a set of spark plug boots, 97 lei; cleaning the stepper motor, 50 lei of products. Amounts in lei from earlier years, not a current quote.A rough figure from the original database, not an up-to-date quote.

- Engine / equipment
- Dacia with factory LPG: Logan I and II, Logan MCV I and II, Sandero I and II, Duster I, Lodgy and Dokker
- Period mentioned
- From 2007 (the tank, 10 years after it was made)
- Symptoms
- It struggles to switch to gas, the idle is unstable, consumption rises or the engine stalls when cold; on gas the engine shakes, misfires or the engine warning light comes on. At the ITP the car is rejected if the LPG tank has expired.
- Possible cause described
- According to RAR, quoted by Alba24, the LPG tank may be used for 10 years from its manufacturing date (marked on the label or on the tank itself), not from when it was fitted; once expired, the car is rejected at the ITP. PLAYTECH explains that over the years the reducer-vaporiser diaphragms wear, the gas injectors get dirty or worn, the liquid- and vapour-phase filters must be changed periodically and, with heavy use, the valve seats can wear; LPG also shows weak spark plugs or coils sooner.
- Check for the garage
- Check the tank's manufacturing date before the ITP or before buying the car; it can only be replaced at a RAR-authorised workshop, and then the car must go to RAR to record the new tank in the vehicle identity card (CIV). Change the gas filters periodically and, if an old engine running on gas runs badly, ask for a compression test.
