Three-cylinder timing chain, lights and campaigns on the Logan IIKnown weak points
- Engine / equipment
- Dacia Logan II and Logan MCV II (petrol, LPG and diesel)
- Period mentioned
- 2012–2020
- Symptoms
- On the three-cylinders (SCe 75, TCe 90 and 100), a chain that stretches early with a risk of serious failure and sometimes high oil consumption; failing dipped beams, tail lights and indicators, oil leaks, brake discs and suspension at the roadworthiness test; starter, ignition lock and battery.
- Possible cause described
- The naturally aspirated 1.2 16V is far more reliable. Many recalls (KBA): driver airbag (2012–2013 and 2018), track rod (17/9–4/12/2015), front-right caliper, steering-column mounting (23/11/2016–4/1/2018), trailer module, battery (11–14/6/2018) and bonnet latch (2/9/2020–15/1/2021).
- Check for the garage
- Listen to the chain when cold and measure oil consumption; check every campaign by VIN; check lights and leaks before the roadworthiness test.

Recall: rear brake drum linings on the Logan MCV II (June 2020)Brakes
- Engine / equipment
- Second-generation Dacia Logan MCV built from 29/5 to 25/6/2020
- Period mentioned
- 2020
- Symptoms
- The rear brake drum linings are not the right ones and can impair the stability control (ESP).
- Possible cause described
- According to L'argus (January 2021), non-compliant linings were fitted in the rear brake drums of Logan MCVs built from 29/5 to 25/6/2020 (287 cars in France), the last ones before this generation ended. Dacia has written to owners by registered letter since December 2020.
- Check for the garage
- Ask Dacia by VIN whether your car is in the recall. The check takes about 20 minutes; if the linings have to be replaced, nearly two hours.

- Engine / equipment
- Dacia with factory LPG: Logan I and II, Logan MCV I and II, Sandero I and II, Duster I, Lodgy and Dokker
- Period mentioned
- From 2007 (the tank, 10 years after it was made)
- Symptoms
- It struggles to switch to gas, the idle is unstable, consumption rises or the engine stalls when cold; on gas the engine shakes, misfires or the engine warning light comes on. At the ITP the car is rejected if the LPG tank has expired.
- Possible cause described
- According to RAR, quoted by Alba24, the LPG tank may be used for 10 years from its manufacturing date (marked on the label or on the tank itself), not from when it was fitted; once expired, the car is rejected at the ITP. PLAYTECH explains that over the years the reducer-vaporiser diaphragms wear, the gas injectors get dirty or worn, the liquid- and vapour-phase filters must be changed periodically and, with heavy use, the valve seats can wear; LPG also shows weak spark plugs or coils sooner.
- Check for the garage
- Check the tank's manufacturing date before the ITP or before buying the car; it can only be replaced at a RAR-authorised workshop, and then the car must go to RAR to record the new tank in the vehicle identity card (CIV). Change the gas filters periodically and, if an old engine running on gas runs badly, ask for a compression test.
