Integrated charging control unit (ICCU) that stops charging the 12 V batteryElectrical and electronic systems
- Engine / equipment
- E-GMP electric cars: Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, Kia EV6
- Period mentioned
- 2021–2025
- Symptoms
- Fault warnings, the car goes into limp mode and can lose drive power while moving; the 12 V battery runs flat.
- Possible cause described
- The ICCU, which charges the 12 V battery from the high-voltage one, can be damaged by voltage spikes and thermal cycling. In the US more than 200,000 cars were recalled: the ICCU and its fuse are checked and replaced if needed and new software is installed; some cars that had already been updated failed again.
- Check for the garage
- Check the ICCU campaigns and software by VIN; if the warning appears, find a safe place to stop and call for assistance.

Charging on an AC charger stops or slows down (Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Kona Electric, campaign 9B5)Electric charging
- Engine / equipment
- Hyundai Ioniq 6, Ioniq 5 and second-generation Kona Electric
- Period mentioned
- 2022–2024
- Symptoms
- When charging on an AC point (at home or on a 7–11 kW post), the session is interrupted or charging is slower than normal.
- Possible cause described
- According to Hyundai bulletin 24-01-051H-1 (campaign 9B5, September 2024), the car stops or reduces charging to avoid damaging the cable connection. The new logic of the charging manager (VCMS) makes it restart by itself and charge at full power again once things stabilise. It affects Ioniq 6 built from 14/12/2022 to 25/12/2023, Ioniq 5 from 4/10/2023 to 18/12/2023 and Kona Electric from 5/10/2023 to 13/7/2024.
- Check for the garage
- Check the build date and ask Hyundai by VIN whether the charging manager has the campaign 9B5 update. Also check that the cable and socket are not hot, dirty or damaged: if they are, do not charge until they have been checked.
- Cost cited in the source
- No parts cost: it is a software update; ask whether the warranty covers it.A rough figure from the original database, not an up-to-date quote.

Turtle warning light and “power is limited” because of the motor's electric oil pump (Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, P0A2F)Electric drive
- Engine / equipment
- Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 electric
- Period mentioned
- 2022–2024
- Symptoms
- The turtle warning light comes on and the instrument panel shows “power is limited”; P0A2F may be stored, or there may be no code.
- Possible cause described
- Hyundai bulletin 24-EV-003H (March 2024) has the traction motor's electric oil pump (EOP) checked: with the motor warm and accelerating and braking repeatedly, if the pump is told to run but its speed stays at zero, it is not working and is replaced. If it runs normally, it does not need replacing.
- Check for the garage
- Drive gently to the garage. The garage reads the codes and, with the diagnostic tool, compares the command and the speed of the electric oil pump during a road test, as the bulletin says.
- Cost cited in the source
- In the US, under the normal warranty.A rough figure from the original database, not an up-to-date quote.
