The Zoe gear selector locks and the car cannot be moved (built 2016 to 2017)Gearbox
Engine / equipment
First-generation Renault Zoe built from August 2016 to April 2017
Period mentioned
2016–2017
Symptoms
The gear selector will not move from its position and the car is immobilised.
Possible cause described
According to L'argus (August 2019), the trigger of the selector lock breaks. In January 2019 Renault opened a special technical operation (OTS) for 10,657 Zoe built from 1 August 2016 to the end of April 2017: the selector knob is replaced. Owners are not notified by letter: it is done when the car visits the garage.
Check for the garage
Ask Renault by VIN whether the car is in the operation and whether it has been done, because no letter is sent. If the selector will not move, do not force it: call for assistance.

Symptoms

Possible cause described
Faults in the on-board charger (overheating in high-power AC charging), corroded connector pins or an insulation fault in another high-voltage part, such as the air-conditioning compressor.
Check for the garage
