Front-axle wiring harness chafing on the oil cooler (G-Class W463A)Electrical and electronic systems
- Engine / equipment
- Mercedes G-Class W463A (G 350 d, G 400 d, G 500/550 and AMG G 63)
- Period mentioned
- 2018–2021
- Symptoms
- ABS and ESP warning lights on; loss of anti-lock braking and stability control.
- Possible cause described
- The front-axle harness can rub against the oil cooler and be damaged. There were campaigns in the US (NHTSA 23V-097, 2019–2021 G 550 and AMG G 63), Japan (15,705 cars) and Hong Kong: a protective sleeve is fitted or the harness is replaced.

Wrong ESP warning light and a front radar that can fail (2025 G-Class)Electrical and electronic systems
- Engine / equipment
- Model-year 2025 Mercedes-Benz G-Class (W463A), including the electric G 580
- Period mentioned
- 2024–2025
- Symptoms
- If the ESP fails, the cluster shows the wrong warning light; automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist or Distronic stop working.
- Possible cause described
- Two US recalls: 25V-254 (6,247 2025 G 550, G 580 and AMG G 63), because the wrong warning light may come on when the ESP fails (the ESP control unit software is updated), and 25V-711 (a few 2025 G 580 and AMG G 63), because the circuit board of the front short-range radar sensor may fail, leaving the car without automatic emergency braking, active brake assist, lane keeping assist or Distronic (the sensor is replaced).
- Check for the garage
- Ask a Mercedes dealer by VIN whether both campaigns have been done.
