Clunk, pop or bump from the top of the front suspension when turning the steering wheel (Leaf ZE0 and Juke F15)Suspension and steering
Engine / equipment
Top of the front strut assemblies: Nissan Leaf (ZE0) and Juke (F15)
Period mentioned
2013–2015
Symptoms
A clunk, pop or bump from the top of one of the front struts when the steering wheel is turned.
Possible cause described
According to Nissan bulletin NTB14-088b (USA, April 2015) for the 2013–2015 Leaf and the 2013 Juke, the noise comes from the top of the front strut and is fixed by fitting a spacer in both front strut assemblies.
Check for the garage
Tell the garage the noise comes when turning the wheel. Before replacing struts, have them find where it comes from (the bulletin uses chassis microphones on the springs) and whether the spacer fixes it.
