Engines: 2.9 V6 / 4.0 V8 (Petrol)

Applies if: Only the Panamera 4S (2.9 V6) from 2017–2018 included in campaign WJ26.

Cracked coolant pipe between the engine block and the left cylinder head on the Panamera 4SCooling
Engine / equipment
Panamera 4S (971) 2.9 V6 biturbo
Period mentioned
2017–2018
Symptoms
Coolant loss: a stain under the engine, a smell of hot coolant and, if not noticed in time, the temperature and coolant level warning lights on at the same time.
Possible cause described
The coolant pipe joining the engine block to the left cylinder head (cylinders 4 to 6) can crack over time because of vibrations in the cooling system. Porsche replaces it with an improved pipe in service campaign WJ26 (technical information 45/18, October 2018).
Check for the garage
With the temperature warning light on, stop in a safe place and do not drive on; do not open the reservoir when hot. At the garage, have them check the pipe between the block and the left cylinder head and whether the car has campaign WJ26 outstanding.

Second-generation Porsche Panamera (971)
Period mentioned

Symptoms
An automatic rear spoiler that sticks or sits lopsided; a faulty PCM screen; PASM chassis warning lights; air conditioning blowing warm; one case of overheating at idle; noise and a yellow warning from the rear anti-roll bar links.
Possible cause described
Problems collected by the RAC Drive used-car guide from owners. Porsche recalled 197 cars in the UK because the rear anti-roll bar links could fail.
Check for the garage
Raise and lower the spoiler on the test drive; test the PCM and air conditioning; read the PASM fault memory; check the anti-roll bar link recall by VIN.
