Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Sensor A Circuit High
The boost pressure sensor sends the ECU a voltage that rises with the pressure the turbo builds.
What the car has detected
The sensor voltage is higher than a healthy sensor can give: it is often unplugged, has a broken wire or is faulty.
Without a reliable reading the ECU limits the turbo and the car lacks power. It can be driven gently to a garage.
Symptoms
- Engine warning light on
- Loss of power or limp mode
Possible causes
- Sensor unplugged or a broken wire
- Faulty boost pressure sensor
- Broken sensor earth
Checks for the garage
- Check the sensor wiring and connector
- Measure the sensor’s supply, earth and signal
Next step
Ask for the boost pressure sensor connector and wiring to be checked before it is replaced.
Go to a garage soon and drive gently meanwhile.
