Emergency

Check the battery.

Buying a used electric or plug-in hybrid? Read the state of health of its battery with an OBD2 Bluetooth reader, from the browser and without installing anything.

Choose the model first: each make keeps the battery data in a different place.

Is your car not on the list?

We only list cars whose battery data is documented in an open source we can cite. Rather than make up a figure, we prefer to tell you we do not know.

  • Tesla (Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X)It does not give battery data through the OBD socket without a special cable; look at the battery status on the car's screen (Service menu) or ask Tesla for the report.
  • Volkswagen ID.3, ID.4, e-Golf · Cupra Born · Škoda Enyaq · Audi Q4 e-tronThere is no open, checked table to read them through the OBD socket with a simple reader. Ask an official service for the battery certificate.
  • BMW i3 · MINI Cooper SEThe public definitions have a licence we cannot use in Testigo, and they need a reader mode that many cheap readers lack.
  • Peugeot e-208 / e-2008 · Opel Corsa-e / Mokka-e · Citroën ë-C4 · Fiat 500eThere is no open, checked source for their battery data yet. Ask a dealer for the maker's battery report.
  • MG4 · MG ZS EV · MG5They need security steps from the car that a normal OBD reader cannot do.
  • Hyundai Kona (2023 en adelante) · Kia Niro EV (2022 en adelante) · Ioniq 6They are new generations with no checked open data yet.

If your hybrid or electric car is not there, choose “Another hybrid, plug-in or electric”: we will try the standard value, which some cars give.

The car's data stays in your browser. It only leaves it if you share the report.
