What you need

An OBD2 Bluetooth LE adapter

It costs about €15–25 in car parts shops or online. The box or the listing should say “Bluetooth LE”, “BLE” or “Bluetooth 4.0”. The ones that only say “Bluetooth” (the classic kind) or “Wi-Fi” won't work with the browser.

It's under the steering wheel, at the height of the driver's knees; sometimes behind a small cover or next to the fuse box. Every petrol car since 2001 and every diesel since 2004 has one.

How to connect it

With the car stopped, switch the ignition on or start the engine (outdoors, never in a closed garage).
Plug the adapter in: a light will come on.
Press “Connect the adapter” and pick it in the list. You don't need to pair it in the Bluetooth settings first.

Unplug it when you've finished: left in for days with the car parked, it can drain the battery.
