Sources are not verified in real time and no entry confirms that your car is affected.

Engine / equipment
BMW 5 Series F10/F11 diesel (520d to M550d)
Period mentioned
2010–2017
Symptoms
Broken springs, play in the axle joints and cracked driveshaft boots, and, among component faults, the timing chain (2011), turbo (2012–2013) and crankshaft pulley (2010).
Possible cause described
According to the ADAC, the 5 Series gets good to very good values in every year of its statistics and is a long-distance car, and that shows in what the German roadworthiness test criticises: broken springs, play in the axle joints and cracked driveshaft boots. The 520d is a good compromise; almost all have the excellent 8-speed automatic.
Check for the garage
Check springs, joints and boots; ask for the timing chain to be checked and ask by VIN about the recalls (EGR module, filter heater, propshaft disc).
