Electric parking brake that does not apply properly (2024–2025 Renault and Dacia)

Sources are not verified in real time and no entry confirms that your car is affected.

A recall does not mean your car is affected. Check the market, build date and VIN with the manufacturer.

Engine / equipment
Renault Captur II, Mégane E-Tech, Scénic E-Tech, Austral, Rafale and Espace VI; Dacia Duster III
Period mentioned
2024–2025
Symptoms
The car can move when getting in or out or when unbuckling the seatbelt because the parking brake is not properly applied.
Possible cause described
The parking-brake actuator position sensor was fitted at the wrong angle, leaving the locking pin in the wrong position. Recall published in France (RappelConso) for Renault built from 10/4/2024 to 16/1/2025 and Duster III from October 2024 to October 2025; the assisted brake can still immobilise the car.
Check for the garage
Check the campaign by VIN at the dealer; meanwhile leave the car in gear or in P and check it does not move before getting out.
