AUTO BILD (June 2026) lists those Superb III faults and, from the TÜV inspection: worn springs and leaking dampers as the biggest defect of the last two generations, brake discs with a poor contact pattern more often than normal, the service brake criticised at the first inspection and oil leaks more frequent than on the Superb II. The recalls it mentions are for electronic faults on the 1.5 TSI and a fire risk on the plug-in hybrid.
