Before you buy a used Audi Q4 / Q6 / Q8 e-tron y A6 e-tron.
Taken only from Testigo's sourced sheets. Use it to question the seller and on the test drive: it does not confirm that any particular car is affected.

The essentials.
- 3 documented, sourced faults for its engine.
- They all depend on the equipment or the production date: ask what this car has.
- 1 official recall on record: ask for the chassis number (VIN) and confirm it has been done.
Typical faults by engine
The period and mileage are those mentioned by each sheet's sources. They are not a maintenance interval and do not predict that any particular car will fail.

Official recalls: ask before you pay
A recall existing does not mean this car is affected or that it is still outstanding: it depends on the chassis number, the market and the production date.
- Ask the seller for the chassis number (VIN): it has 17 characters, appears in the car's documents and can usually also be seen at the base of the windscreen.
- Ask an official Audi dealer, or the brand's official website if it lets you check by chassis number, whether each recall has been done or is still outstanding for that VIN.
- Manufacturer recalls are normally carried out free of charge by the official service network. If one is outstanding, ask for it to be done before you close the sale.

Electrics and software
Look out for: The car will not start or wake up after standing even though the traction battery is charged; 12 V battery warnings; screens that freeze or go black; charging sessions that will not start or cut out.
Ask them to check: Check the 12 V battery condition and the quiescent current draw, and confirm at the dealer that the car has the latest software. With ODIS: high-voltage battery (8B), high-voltage electronics (8C), charger (8E) and ICAS1 (C7).
Electric drive
Look out for: Cracking noises are heard from the rear or the underbody; the noise comes from the area of the high-voltage battery.
Ask them to check: It is a noise, not a battery fault, but the job requires removing the high-voltage battery: only at a garage equipped for electric cars. Ask Audi by VIN whether it can be done under warranty.
Look out for: A low booming noise is heard at the rear that depends on speed, and the car judders slightly when driving slowly, forwards and in reverse. In neutral the noise goes away. P18F100 may be stored in the electric drive.
Ask them to check: The garage reads P18F100 in the electric drive unit and removes the wheel speed sensor, hub, bearing and drive shaft of the affected wheel to find and clean off the metal particles, replacing whatever is damaged.
