Before you buy a used Mercedes-Benz Clase G (W463A).
Taken only from Testigo's sourced sheets. Use it to question the seller and on the test drive: it does not confirm that any particular car is affected.

The essentials.
- 4 documented, sourced faults across its 3 engines.
- 2 of them depend on the equipment or the production date: ask what this car has.
- 2 official recalls on record: ask for the chassis number (VIN) and confirm they have been done.
- According to the data we have, the engines with the fewest documented faults are: G 350 d / 400 d / 450 d (Diesel), G 580 eléctrico (Electric).
Typical faults by engine
The period and mileage are those mentioned by each sheet's sources. They are not a maintenance interval and do not predict that any particular car will fail.

By fuel type, the ones with the fewest documented faults are: Diesel, Electric.
We only count the sourced sheets we have. An engine with fewer is not guaranteed to be more reliable: it may have been studied less or sold in smaller numbers.
Official recalls: ask before you pay
A recall existing does not mean this car is affected or that it is still outstanding: it depends on the chassis number, the market and the production date.
- Ask the seller for the chassis number (VIN): it has 17 characters, appears in the car's documents and can usually also be seen at the base of the windscreen.
- Ask an official Mercedes-Benz dealer, or the brand's official website if it lets you check by chassis number, whether each recall has been done or is still outstanding for that VIN.
- Manufacturer recalls are normally carried out free of charge by the official service network. If one is outstanding, ask for it to be done before you close the sale.

0 of 4 checked
AdBlue / DPF / EGR
Look out for: AdBlue or emissions warnings with a start countdown; particulate filter warning; power loss or rough idle from a dirty EGR.
Ask them to check: Read AdBlue and NOx sensor codes with Xentry, check the particulate filter regeneration history and how the car is used (short trips).
Electrical and electronic systems
Look out for: ABS and ESP warning lights on; loss of anti-lock braking and stability control.
Ask them to check: Check by VIN at the dealer that the campaign has been done.
Look out for: If the ESP fails, the cluster shows the wrong warning light; automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist or Distronic stop working.
Ask them to check: Ask a Mercedes dealer by VIN whether both campaigns have been done.
Powertrain and engine management
Look out for: The engine warning light comes on and the car may lose power, with throttle codes such as P210185, P213500 or P213600.
Ask them to check: Ask the workshop to check the connectors of both throttle bodies and apply note LI07.10-P-080384 before replacing the throttle bodies.
