"Coolant too low" message and traces on the water pump: a little is normal (Cayenne and Panamera V8 from 2024)Cooling
- Engine / equipment
- Porsche Cayenne and Panamera with the 4.0 twin-turbo V8 (S, GTS and Turbo E-Hybrid)
- Period mentioned
- 2024–2026 (US model years)
- Symptoms
- The "Coolant too low" message appears or coolant loss is seen, and the workshop finds small traces in the leakage chamber of the water pump.
- Possible cause described
- The water pump lip seal is lubricated by coolant and can let out up to 3 ml every 100 operating hours: that is normal and not grounds for complaint. The level can also drop after insufficient bleeding or a previous repair. Porsche explains it in its technical information 162/26.
- Check for the garage
- Ask them to check the whole circuit for leaks, confirm the bleeding was done properly and document the leak point with photos before replacing the pump.
