12.3-inch digital cluster that does not start up properly (Land Cruiser 250)Electrical and electronic systems
- Engine / equipment
- Toyota Land Cruiser 250 (J250) with the 12.3-inch digital cluster
- Period mentioned
- 2024–2025
- Symptoms
- On start-up, part of the cluster screen stays black and warning lights and messages cannot be seen.
- Possible cause described
- The cluster control program was not designed carefully enough: on start-up it may not boot properly and part of the screen is not shown. Toyota announced it in Japan on 27/5/2026 (20,759 Land Cruiser 250 with the 12.3" screen built from 10/4/2024 to 20/6/2025) and the same day in Canada for 2024–2025 model-year Land Cruisers. The cluster software is updated (in Japan also over the air).
- Check for the garage
- Ask Toyota by VIN whether the cluster software has been updated; on start-up, check that all warning lights come on.
- Cost cited in the source
- Free under the recall.A rough figure from the original database, not an up-to-date quote.
