Period mentioned

Possible cause described
According to the EU alert A12/01430/21 (Safety Gate) and the UK DVSA (R/2021/345), a design change added an internal chamfer in the seat back lock button on which the latch rod can catch; the seat back stays unlatched and, in a crash, neither the rear passenger nor the luggage is properly restrained.
Check for the garage
After raising the seat back, pull it forward to check that it has locked. Ask a Nissan dealer, with the VIN, whether the recall is outstanding on your car. They replace both lock buttons.
